  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP, TACCP, and food safety legislation.

Food Safety Technologist

Working days: Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 17:00 with 16:00 finish on Friday. Pay: Between £28,000 and £30,000 per annum depending on experience. Location: The Compleat Food Group, Crossgate Drive, Nottingham, NG2 1LW.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our Food Safety Technologist, you’ll be the site’s Food Safety Champion—leading the way to ensure all our products are safe, legal, and delicious. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Operations, Technical, and NPD to drive improvements, support audits, and embed a proactive food safety culture.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust HACCP system that ensures full compliance and due diligence.
  • Supporting the creation and review of TACCP/Vulnerability Plans, keeping an eye on emerging risks and trends.
  • Leading process validation, including cook/chill verification and shelf‑life testing, to guarantee product safety and quality.
  • Working with the NPD and Process teams to set clear standards for hygiene, microbiology, allergens, and foreign bodies.
  • Reviewing and signing off nutritional, chemical, and packaging specifications, ensuring everything meets legal and customer requirements.
  • Assisting with internal audits, supporting site compliance, and contributing to continuous improvement projects.
  • Promoting a strong health & safety culture, ensuring best practices across all areas.
