Job summary

Pilgrim's Europe is seeking a Quality Technologist to champion food safety, quality and compliance at our Hyde site. You'll work closely with production teams to ensure products meet high standards while driving continuous improvement across the operation.

The role requires HACCP and food safety expertise, knowledge of BRC standards, and strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills. A proactive, detail-oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Quality or Technical role within food manufacturing.
• Good knowledge of BRC standards and food industry regulations.
• HACCP and Food Safety Level 3 qualification
• Food Science, Food Technology, or a related qualification
• Experience supporting customer or third-party audits
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Confident using Microsoft Office and technical reporting systems

Responsibilities

• Drive food safety and quality standards across the factory
• Support customer, BRC, and third-party audits
• Investigate quality issues and lead root cause analysis activities
• Manage supplier complaints and non-conformances
• Lead validation projects including hygiene, allergen, and product claim verification
• Conduct factory inspections, line walks, and compliance checks
• Coordinate mock recalls and traceability exercises
• Support key suppliers, including pest control and chemical providers
• Promote a positive food safety and quality culture across site
• Help deliver our Go for Zero safety agenda
