Food Safety Officer – Hotel Group

Location: Nationwide (must drive)

Salary: Up to £50,000 + Bonus

In this key role, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring compliance with all food safety legislation, proactively shaping and maintaining a culture of safety and hygiene across the hotels.You’ll conduct detailed inspections, support teams with expert coaching, and help drive a consistent and positive food safety culture nationwide.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular and planned inspections of food handling, preparation, and storage areas to ensure compliance with our Food Safety Management System across all hotels.
  • Support hotels with action plans, proactive advice, coaching, and training in line with audit findings and visit outcomes.
  • Conduct supplier and vendor food safety audits to ensure compliance throughout the supply chain.
  • Manage supply chain and operational allergy procedures, ensuring consistent allergen awareness and control.
  • Develop, review, and implement the Food Safety Management System in line with current legislation and company developments.
  • Promote a positive food safety culture by working collaboratively with hotel teams and key stakeholders.
  • Provide targeted support to hotels with specific challenges in their food operations.
Requirements
  • Qualified in Food Safety (minimum Level 4 or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a similar food safety, quality, or environmental health role — ideally within the hospitality sector.
  • Strong knowledge of UK and international food safety legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage at all levels of the business.
  • Proactive, organised, and passionate about driving continuous improvement in food safety and hygiene standards.
