Food Production Team Leader

Location: Peterborough (PE2)

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm

Pay Rate: £13.50 per hour

Taskmaster are proud to be recruiting on behalf of our well-established and rapidly expanding client based in Peterborough. We're looking for a hands‑on, motivated Food Production Team Leader to support the daily running of production operations and help drive continued success within a modern, fast‑paced food manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the factory to ensure production targets are consistently met.
  • Leading, motivating, and supporting the production team to maintain high performance and morale.
  • Creating and implementing production plans, coordinating workflow and ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Maintaining an exemplary health and safety record, promoting best practices across the team.
  • Monitoring output and quality, ensuring products meet company and customer standards.
  • Coordinating production using the company's new ERP system and supporting the transition to digital operations.
  • Assisting with staff training, development and performance reviews to build a skilled and confident team.
Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year's supervisory experience in a food production environment.
  • Strong leadership and people‑management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop others.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and familiar with databases or ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in training, coaching and performance management.
  • A proactive problem‑solver with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Sound knowledge of quality assurance processes, productivity metrics and health & safety procedures.
