THE EMPLOYER IS: BETHANY FRUIT MARKETWe’re looking for a motivated, reliable Food Prep Assistant to join our team, preparing fresh produce, raw juices, ginger shots and healthy ready-to-go items for customers.You’ll work as part of a small, friendly team ensuring that all products are prepared safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.This placement offers hands-on experience in a small food production environment, ideal for someone who enjoys practical work and wants to build skills in food handling, hygiene, and teamwork.The successful candidate will receive full training and ongoing support from experienced staff. Responsibilities
  • Wash, peel, chop, and portion fruit and vegetables according to daily production lists.
  • Prepare snack products (e.g. Munch Balls, fruit pots, or salad boxes) following set recipes and portion sizes.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic workspace, following food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Label, package, and store prepared items correctly, ensuring freshness and traceability.
  • Assist with deliveries - receiving, checking, and storing ingredients and packaging.
  • Keep accurate records of prep tasks, waste, and cleaning schedules.
  • Support stock rotation and report low or damaged stock.
  • Work efficiently with the rest of the team to meet production deadlines.
  • Follow all company health & safety procedures.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Basic understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with good communication and cooperation skills.
  • Physically able to stand for long periods and carry light loads.

  • Experience working to daily targets or deadlines.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen, deli, café, or food production role.
  • Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification (training can be provided).
  • Knowledge of portion control and food labelling.
  • Awareness of allergens and food safety regulations.
