Overview

I am looking to connected with an experienced and forward-thinking Environmental Health Manager to head a North West Local Authorities Environmental Health team and serve as the Lead Officer for food law and workplace health and safety enforcement across the Borough.

This is your opportunity to drive policy, shape strategy, and make a tangible impact on public health—all while working in a flexible environment that supports remote and hybrid arrangements.

What you'll lead
  • Draft and deliver the Food Law Service Plan and health & safety strategy

  • Interpret and implement legislation and national guidance with precision

  • Oversee statutory returns and ensure policy compliance across the board

  • Represent the Council in legal proceedings

You\'ll manage
  • Officers at senior and apprentice level

  • Inspections of high-risk and approved food premises

  • Investigations into food complaints, infectious diseases, and workplace accidents

A successful candidate will
  • A Degree in Environmental Health with EHRB/CIEH Registration
  • Proven competency in food safety and health & safety enforcement

  • Experience in policy writing, legal processes, and strategic planning

  • Strong communication, leadership, and report-writing skills
