We run 185 cafes, tea‑rooms and restaurants all over England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and we'd love you to join us.

We’re looking for a Food and Beverage Team Member.

In this role, you’d be making a real difference to the work of the National Trust, as well as helping to give people a memorable day out.

This location is in a rural area, so please think about how you’d get here for work, before applying for the job.

Contract type
  • Zero‑hour contract – we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week.
Contract duration
  • Fixed term contract until 31 August 2026.
Hours / Working pattern
  • Shifts from 10:00 am – 5:30 pm, 7 days a week.
  • Typically, you’ll work 3 days per week but more if we’re busy.
Salary
  • £12.25 per hour.

What you’ll be doing
  • Front‑of‑house focus, dealing directly with guests.
  • Welcome and look after everyone who comes to the café.
  • Provide an outstanding service with a can‑do attitude.
  • Work collaboratively, adapting to a lively, constantly on‑the‑go environment.
  • Understand guests’ needs, help them, and make recommendations.
  • Maintain high standards of food and drink preparation and presentation.
  • Ensure displays and signs are accurate and attractive.
  • Assist the kitchen team with food preparation when needed.
  • Complete induction, allergens and food safety training, plus mentorship as required.
