Job summary

The Winchester Hotel & Spa is seeking a Food and Beverage Supervisor to join the Truly Talented team in Winchester. You will work closely with the leadership team to support hotel operations and guest satisfaction, while developing a strong F&B team.

• Previous supervisory experience in a busy environment is preferred.
• Excellent personal presentation.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deputise for the Food & Beverage Manager in their absence and lead the team.
• Supervise, encourage and develop the food and beverage team.
• Ensure breakfast service standards are maintained.
• Ensure all tables are set and ready for guests at all times.
• Ensure guest orders are taken and executed promptly.
• Have good knowledge of the food and beverage menu and respond to queries.
• Communicate guest questions and dietary requirements to relevant teams.

The Winchester Hotel & Spa has been one of Winchester's most popular destinations for weekend getaways and spa breaks for over 20 years. The hotel consists of 96 bedrooms across four room types, a relaxing spa with a range of professional treatments as well as a refreshing pool and hot tub, flexible function rooms and a stylish bar and restaurant to enjoy throughout the day.

We are currently looking for a Food and Beverage Supervisor to join our Truly Talented team.

Your role

You will work closely with the food and beverage leadership team in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the Hotel and the satisfaction of guests.

Responsibilities of Food and Beverage Supervisor will include but are not limited to:

• You will be expected to deputise for the Food & Beverage Manager in their absence. You will be required to play a vital role in leading and developing the team;
• Supervising, encouraging and developing the food and beverage team;
• To ensure all service standards are maintained throughout the breakfast operation;
• Ensuring that all tables are set and ready for welcoming guests at all times;
• Ensuring that all guests’ orders are taken and executed in a timely manner;
• Having good knowledge of the food and beverage menu;
• Responding to guests’ queries on the menu selection;
• Communicating any guests’ questions on the menu, the length of wait and product availability with the Food & Beverage and Kitchen teams, as well as any additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the teams accordingly.

You'll work in a busy and hardworking team environment, where you'll continually learn and develop.

The core skills and experience required to succeed

• Truly passionate about the Hospitality Industry;
• Previous supervisory experience in a busy environment is preferred;
• Excellent personal presentation;
• Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety procedures;
• Ability to function independently with a minimum of supervision;
• Excellent communication skills, the ability to communicate verbally and in writing ;
• To be an enthusiastic team player with a flexible approach.
