Overview

Who we are: The Royal London Yacht Club is a private members’ club established in 1838. It has established an excellent reputation for organising sailing regattas and social events both large and small for its members and guests throughout the year. Our elegant Victorian Clubhouse is situated in an enviable position on The Parade, Cowes, overlooking the Solent. Our friendly staff team provide a high level of customer service to our members and their guests.

What we are looking for

We are looking to expand our current team with a food and beverage assistant who has waiting and bar experience and are looking to build on their skills and knowledge. The role is offered on a part-time basis throughout the year, hours will vary from season to season but we can offer a minimum of 18 hours per week. This will involve both mid-week and weekend shifts including late night finishes. The hours and shifts offered will entirely depend on the events that are taking place from week to week.

You will be willing to provide cover for our overnight staff when required. This will involve sleeping at the Club and being responsible for staying guests if an emergency arises.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with food and beverage service at events and on a daily basis as required.
  • Provide bar service with a focus on professional customer service.
  • Support wait staff during large events and peak periods.
  • Be flexible with shifts and available for mid-week and weekend work.
  • Offer overnight cover when required, including staying at the Club and assisting guests in emergencies.
Experience / Skills
  • A good level of bar skills and previous experience of waiting on large events.
  • Willingness to work flexibly as part of the team.
  • Confidence and ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Passionate about delivering an excellent level of professional customer service.
