Job summary

Always Candid is recruiting an Engineering Manager for a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing site in Lancashire. You will lead a multi-skilled engineering team, drive equipment reliability, maintenance standards and site development, balancing immediate priorities with long-term improvement.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will develop strategy, plan maintenance, support CAPEX, manage budgets and build a proactive, data-led engineering culture across safety, quality and performance.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of a multi-skilled engineering team.
• Strong mechanical and electrical engineering background.
• Experience in high-volume FMCG or consumer manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a multi-skilled site engineering team with clear standards and accountability.
• Develop and deliver a site engineering and maintenance strategy aligned with operational priorities.
• Improve planning, reliability and maintenance execution to enhance plant performance.
• Drive proactive, data-led improvements and root-cause analysis after significant breakdowns.
• Manage budgets, contractors, and spares while ensuring compliance and safety.
