FM Services Officer

Location: HMP Fosseway
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
On-call: 1 in 9 rota (with uplift for call-outs)
Salary: £24,000 - £31,000

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and hands‑on FM Services Officer to join our Works Service Team at HMP Fosseway. This is a varied role where you'll carry out general maintenance tasks, basic plumbing, painting, and day‑to‑day repairs, while also supporting the wider facilities team.

You don't need formal qualifications for this position, what matters is that you're practical, adaptable, and confident in tackling a range of maintenance duties.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll complete routine maintenance and repairs, support other trades where needed, and ensure all work is carried out safely and to a high standard. You'll also be responsible for keeping maintenance records up to date, and from time to time you may escort contractors on‑site.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who:

  • Has hands‑on experience in general maintenance or a similar role.
  • Has some basic plumbing knowledge
  • Can work independently, using initiative to prioritise and complete tasks.
  • Is flexible, proactive, and a strong team player.
  • Communicates effectively, both with colleagues and external contractors.

Experience of working in a secure environment would be an advantage, but is not essential.
