Job summary

Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust in Luton is recruiting for FM Assistants (Band 2) to maintain a clean and hygienic environment across wards and clinical areas, following the Trust’s work schedule.

Two posts available: one on Monday to Friday 25 hours, and one weekend 10 hours; hours and times discussed at interview. Located at Robin Pinto Unit.

You will vacuum, sweep, mop, dust and restock consumables, contributing to patient and staff safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Clean ward areas according to the work schedule, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and dusting.
• Restock consumables and maintain hygiene in kitchens and wards.
• Support in-house FM services across assigned areas as required.

Job description

FM Assistant - Cleaning Band 2 - £12.92 per hour (£25,272 per annum pro rata) (2 Posts Available - One Monday to Friday 25 hours and one Saturday and Sunday 10 hours and hours and times to be discussed at Interview) Robin Pinto Unit, Luton To ensure that the ward(s) / areas you are assigned to are cleaned in accordance with the Work Schedule for those ward(s) / areas. This will include vacuuming floors; sweeping, scrubbing and mopping floors; high and low dusting; wiping over and polishing (where applicable) both vertical and horizontal surfaces, mirrors, chairs

• , bed frames, bins, sani-bins; cleaning toilets, sinks, baths and showers; cleaning cookers, regeneration ovens, fridges, holding fridges, microwaves and others items in the kitchens; defrosting fridges on a regular basis; restocking consumables such as toilet tissue, handtowels, soap; descaling taps; and bins and replacing bin liners., To participate in the provision of the in-house FM services to a specified area within the Trust, which may include in-patient wards, admin/clinical areas and retail outlets.

The FM services comprises of the cleaning, catering, portering, bed making and laundering services, however some of these services are unit specific. Therefore sections of this job description may not be relevant to all staff and will be identified where appropriate but are not exhaustive. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for patients, trust staff and visitors in line with the National Standards of Cleanliness.
