Job summary

Vale of Glamorgan Council is seeking a Childcare Worker to provide high quality care for 2-3 year olds within Flying Start settings in Barry. The role is 35 hours per week, term-time only, with Welsh Government funding until 31.3.2028.

You will plan play activities, support child development, and work across Flying Start locations while adhering to CIW regulations. An enhanced DBS is required for the role.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with babies and young children and their families
• Experience planning, organisation and implementation of play activities for young children
• Experience of working in a crèche/childcare environment
• Knowledge of CIW requirements for Regulated Childcare
• Understanding of how children’s development is supported
• Understanding of the Key Worker system
• Flexible and committed approach to work
• Sensitive to the individual needs of children and how to support them

Responsibilities

• To provide high quality childcare provision for children aged 2-3 years within Flying Start settings.
• To work flexibly across Flying Start locations to meet service needs.
• Adhere to CIW regulatory requirements and safeguarding policies.
