Job summary

Gap Personnel is seeking 2 Forklift Drivers for our client in Southend-on-Sea for night shifts Sunday to Thursday. Pay is £14.50 per hour with weekly payments. You will operate a counterbalance forklift, conduct pre-shift checks and support warehouse operations across sites.

Requirements include a full UK manual driving licence, a valid counterbalance forklift licence, and at least 1 year of forklift experience in a warehouse or logistics setting. Night shifts are available Sunday to Thursday.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence.
• Counterbalance forklift licence.
• Minimum 1 year proven forklift experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive the forklift between sites to support internal operations and ensure materials are in the right place at the right time.
• Load and unload the van using a forklift and manual handling, ensuring all goods are handled safely and efficiently.
• Carry out pre-use checks on the forklift at the start of each shift and report any defects immediately.
• Operate the forklift to move pallets and stock within the warehouse, including putting away and picking from racking where required.
• Follow all health and safety, manual handling and site traffic rules while driving, loading and unloading.
• Complete basic paperwork including load lists, delivery notes and internal transfer records.
• Communicate with night shift supervisor and warehouse team about delays, issues, shortages or damages.
• Keep the forklift and loading areas clean and tidy and support general warehouse tasks when required.

Sunday to Thursday | Night shifts varying (10pm - 6am Sun-Thurs, OR - 6pm-10pm Sun, 6pm-3am Mon-Thurs)

Gap Personnel is looking for 2 Forklift Drivers for our client based in Southend-on-Sea.

We have an exciting opportunity for a reliable and experienced FLT driver with a valid external Forklift Licence to join our client's night shift team. If you are a hands-on team player with a can-do attitude, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

• Drive the company forklift between sites to support internal operations and ensure materials are in the right place at the right time.
• Load and unload the van using a forklift and manual handling, ensuring all goods are handled safely and efficiently.
• Carry out pre-use checks on the forklift at the start of each shift and report any defects immediately.

• Follow all health and safety, manual handling and site traffic rules while driving, loading and unloading.

• Communicate clearly with the night shift supervisor and warehouse team about any delays, issues, shortages or damages.
• Keep the forklift and loading areas clean and tidy throughout the shift in line with site housekeeping standards.
• Support general warehouse tasks when required, such as wrapping pallets, labelling and assisting colleagues during busy periods.

Essential Requirements

• Full UK manual driving licence.
• Valid counterbalance forklift licence.
• Minimum 1-year proven forklift experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Physically fit for manual handling and night shift work.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Available Sunday to Thursday nights.
