Job summary

18 Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Floor Layer for a permanent role supporting social housing repairs and refurbishment across occupied and void properties. You will join a busy team and operate with a company van and fuel card provided to cover site visits.

The role requires installing carpet tiles, vinyl, laminate, safety flooring, and other floor coverings, plus subfloor preparation and delivering high-quality workmanship while keeping tenants informed and ensuring safety

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Floor Layer in repairs and maintenance.
• Experience fitting Cap & Cove vinyl flooring.
• Experience installing safety flooring, sheet vinyl, vinyl tiles, laminate flooring, carpet tiles and other resilient coverings.
• Knowledge of floor preparation techniques including latexing and screeding.
• Full clean UK driving licence.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain floor coverings across social housing properties.
• Fit Cap & Cove vinyl in kitchens, bathrooms, wet rooms and communal areas.
• Prepare subfloors including latex self-levelling and minor screeding.
• Install safety flooring, sheet vinyl, cushion flooring, and domestic vinyl flooring.
• Measure, cut, and fit flooring to a high standard.
• Carry out repairs and replacements to existing floor coverings.
• Complete job sheets and reports accurately.
• Deliver excellent customer service in tenants' homes.
