A local government body in the UK is seeking a Flood Risk Officer to assist in managing local flood risks. You will develop strategies, gather information, and collaborate with various stakeholders. The candidate should possess a strong understanding of flood issues, technical writing skills, and experience with IT applications. A degree in a relevant field is preferred, alongside a valid UK driving licence.
As a Flood Risk Officer, you will assist in the development and implementation of the County Council’s local flood risk management strategy, gather and analyse information and data to support flood risk management activities, and collaborate with officers across all County Council service areas, District Council partners and the local community.
You will respond to internal and external enquiries on flooding and related activities, prepare reports and briefing papers for senior officers and elected members, to help with the implementation of the County Council’s responsibilities in relation to flood risk management. Furthermore, you will provide support to the Project Officer in delivering flood risk management projects and initiatives.
