Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is currently seeking a Floating Support Worker to assist women facing multiple disadvantages in East London. This role involves providing practical and emotional support, conducting assessments, and facilitating access to housing and financial services. Ideal candidates will have experience supporting vulnerable adults and possess strong communication skills. The position is temporary for approximately 2 months, with a pay rate of £20 per hour. Job description

We are currently recruiting a Floating Support Worker to provide practical and emotional support to women with multiple disadvantages, including homelessness, housing instability, financial hardship, and wellbeing needs. This role is ideal for someone experienced in supporting vulnerable adults towards independence and stable accommodation.

Location: East London
Contract: Temporary (approx. 2 months, potential to extend)
Hours: Monday-Friday (8am-4pm / 9am-5pm / 10am-6pm)
Pay: £20 per hour (Umbrella)
Start: ASAP

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete needs and risk assessments and create personalised support plans
  • Support women to maintain tenancies or secure suitable accommodation
  • Provide housing advice, benefits support, budgeting and debt guidance
  • Make referrals to housing teams, wellbeing services, legal services, and community resources
  • Maintain accurate case notes and records in line with safeguarding standards
  • Attend multi‑agency meetings and advocate for service users when required
Requirements
  • Experience supporting vulnerable adults with homelessness or housing‑related needs
  • Strong understanding of housing pathways, tenancy sustainment, and welfare benefits
  • Experience managing risk and delivering structured casework
  • Confident multi‑agency working and strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage a caseload, and meet deadlines
  • Good IT skills and commitment to trauma‑informed practice
