The Service

There are vacancies for flexible support workers at our Angus Services, Doocot Park, Orchard Way and Silverway, which form our Angus Learning Disability Contract. Each service requires a specific skill set and you will be allocated to the service that you are best suited to.

The role may involve:

  • Supporting individuals with their medication.
  • Accessing community-based resources.
  • Support to manage finances and money.
  • Maintaining personal health and hygiene including personal care.
  • Support with other issues that arise.
  • Emotional Support.
  • Promotion of positive mental health including coping strategies.

You will have:

  • A positive, flexible attitude, with an encouraging nature.
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal and written.
  • Be highly organised with the ability to work on own initiative.
  • The ability to react efficiently and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Be open to attending and maintaining ongoing training needs.
  • Possess an SVQ 2 in Health and Social Care or have the ability to work towards this qualification.
  • Flexibility with shifts patterns including weekend work, evenings, sleepovers and waking nights.
  • Be required to obtain registration with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up the post.
