Cumberland Council's Shared Lives scheme seeks self-employed carers to support adults aged 18 and over with additional needs in their own homes. Support can be long-term, respite, or day-based, with live-in or regular visits as arranged.
A spare bedroom is required for long-term placements, and DBS checks plus health and safety checks are mandatory. Carers benefit from tax-free payments, training, and ongoing support, with a dedicated Shared Lives worker guiding the placement and flexible hours
