Job summary

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar seeks Secondary Supply Teachers for Lewis & Harris Schools to provide short-term cover across key areas. The Education and Children's Services Department maintains a register of supply teachers to support school effectiveness.

Applicants must be registered with the GTC Scotland and address all aspects of the person specification in their application. Interviews will be conducted in person with the team.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with the GTC Scotland.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes with preparation and marking.
• Develop the school curriculum.
• Assess, record and report on pupil progress.
• Prepare pupils for examinations and support exams administration.
• Provide guidance to pupils on education-related issues.
• Promote and safeguard pupil health, welfare and safety.
• Collaborate with parents, support staff and professionals.
• Undertake continuing professional development as agreed.
• Participate in school planning, raising achievement and reviews.
• Contribute to good order and broader school needs.
