Job summary

Disability North in New Earswick, York, is seeking a Flexible Part-Time Personal Assistant/Carer to join a care-team supporting a disabled client with a rare condition. This role offers two fixed days plus one rotating shift, 10am–4pm, with weekend flexibility including Sundays.

Qualifications

• Current Enhanced DBS check required.
• Prior care-work experience.
• Home location in New Earswick with emergency availability.
• Own transport preferred but not essential; client home is accessible by bus or taxi.

Responsibilities

• Support during periods of paralysis including bathroom assistance.
• Accompany the client to appointments or outings.
• Assist with household and garden tasks and provide friendly companionship.
• Maintain safety, privacy and dignity in the client's home.
