Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in environmental health, ideally within a local authority setting.
• Strong knowledge of statutory nuisance investigations and environmental legislation.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigating statutory nuisance cases (noise, smoke, odours, light pollution, etc.).
• Conducting Part B process inspections.
• Responding to general service requests and planning consultations.
• Applying and enforcing relevant legislation, including the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
• Collaborating with planning and licensing teams to provide expert guidance.
• Preparing legal notices, case documentation, and enforcement actions where necessary.
