Job summary

Independent Lives in Haywards Heath seeks a Personal Assistant to support a warm, funny young man with autism and complex needs. You will assist with personal care, meals and mobility, and accompany him in the community from 10/11am to 7/8pm on weekends, with additional flexible shifts including evenings and overnight respite.

You must have a valid UK driving licence, be comfortable with pets, and join a small team in a family home. DBS check will be required and induction provided.

Qualifications

• Must have a clean and valid driving licence for at least one year.
• Able to drive a wheelchair accessible van when required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Personal grooming and eating/drinking assistance.
• Moving and handling and other personal care duties.
• Administration and transportation duties.
• Companionship and safeguarding the employer's privacy and confidentiality.
• Hygienic, tidy and well organised performance of tasks.
