Overview
Zero hours per week – As and When Required; Working Arrangements £31,051.16 pro‑rata based on a 37.5 Whole Time Equivalent.
We are looking for experienced Occupational Therapists with an interest in working in acute inpatient areas. These professionals will work on a zero‑hour contract, enabling them to pick and choose shifts as they choose and providing flexibility over how and where they work.
Responsibilities
- Support patients’ use of EC equipment by regularly reviewing them and their equipment requirements to meet changing needs and enable them to maintain independence.
- Participate with the provision of other EAT with integration of other specialties such as communication aids, powered wheelchair controls and other equipment of daily living, where appropriate.
- Collaborate with other clinical services and social agencies to optimise patients’ wellbeing.
- Ensure patients and carers are well informed on the use of the equipment that has been loaned to them.
- Adapt equipment provision to meet the changing needs of the patient.
- Ensure adequate and relevant level of competency, including awareness of technological developments.
- Promote the development and application of EC and other relevant EAT.
- Consult with Clinical Scientists and engineers from contracted companies to ensure that the most appropriate cost‑effective solutions are installed for clients.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive and up‑to‑date documentation in line with legal, professional and Trust requirements.
- Understand the use of computer hardware and software to deliver support to patients with computer access requirements.
- Engage in lifelong learning through an active CPD programme.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months post‑qualification experience in an acute hospital, which must be recent.
- Current and valid professional registration as defined by the job description.
- Evidence of ongoing CPD and learning related to areas of practice.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a flexible approach to work.
- Ability to work effectively within an established team.
