Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking enthusiastic Nursery Assistants for flexible, temporary supply roles across Wandsworth and surrounding areas. You can support a variety of early years settings, working with children aged 0-5 in a caring and engaging environment.

Qualified candidates with CACHE/NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare are preferred, but a genuine passion for childcare and transferable experience is welcome. DBS Update service or willingness to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• CACHE / NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare / Early Years Education (or equivalent).
• Unqualified candidates: passion for working with young children and transferable childcare experience.
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, punctual and adaptable to different nursery routines.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, interact, and engage with children aged 0-5 in a warm, stimulating environment.
• Assist permanent nursery staff with daily routines, including meals, outdoor play, and nap schedules.
• Set up creative learning activities and maintain a safe, clean play area.
• Adhere to safeguarding and health and safety policies at all times.
• Promote positive behaviour and support social and emotional development.
