Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking Locum Practice Nurses to cover flexible sessions in Shepton Mallet and surrounding areas. This opportunity supports primary care teams with treatment room clinics, chronic disease management and preventive health services.

Ideal candidates are NMC-registered with primary care experience, able to work across multiple practices, and comfortable with immunisations and routine nursing duties. DBS checks and compliance will be required, with ad-hoc or ongoing bookings available.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with primary care experience and ability to work in a clinic.
• Immunisation and cytology training beneficial but not required.
• Confident with routine nursing tasks and treatment room clinics.
• Able to collaborate with multiple primary care teams.

Responsibilities

• Delivering treatment room clinics including wound care and dressings
• Supporting chronic disease management within established care plans
• Carrying out immunisations for adults and children (if trained)
• Undertaking smear tests where cytology-trained
• Performing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments
• Recording accurate clinical notes for each service
• Assisting with general nursing duties as required
