Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a Rugby secondary school to recruit an English and Maths Tutor. You will support KS3 and KS4 students in English and Maths, adapting sessions to meet individual needs and keeping learners engaged, with paid PPA time.

The role is long-term with flexible hours from 5 to 20 per week, paying £25–£30 per hour, via PAYE. QTS is preferred but not essential, and SEMH experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• QTS desired but not essential.
• Experience teaching or tutoring English and Maths at KS3/KS4.
• Experience supporting students with SEMH needs.
• Ability to adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A patient, resilient and flexible approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver English and Maths tutoring to KS3 and KS4 students.
• Adapt sessions to meet individual learning needs and SEMH requirements.
• Keep learners engaged and ensure effective learning during sessions.
• Support the school with long-term tutoring commitments.
