Job summary

Premium Linguistic Services is seeking freelance Oromo-English interpreters for Face-to-Face assignments in Glasgow and surrounding areas. No formal qualification is required, and experienced or non-qualified candidates are welcome.

DBS certification is mandatory or must be obtained before assignments. As a freelance interpreter, you will attend in-person appointments, interpret conversations accurately and impartially, and adapt to a variety of professional and community settings.

Qualifications

• A formal interpreting qualification is not required.
• We welcome both qualified and non-qualified applicants.
• Previous interpreting experience or a relevant qualification is an advantage, but it is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, accurate and impartial interpretation.
• Attend Face-to-Face assignments at agreed locations and times.
• Convey the meaning and tone of conversations as accurately as possible.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Remain impartial and maintain professional boundaries.
• Communicate respectfully with everyone involved.
• Be punctual, reliable and prepared for assignments.
• Remain calm and professional, including during sensitive situations.
• Maintain a high standard of professional conduct.
