Job summary

Dals in Manchester is seeking freelance BSL interpreters to support police, court, and legal assignments across Greater Manchester. As a freelance interpreter, you will interpret between English and BSL, ensuring clear communication in high-stakes justice settings.

This role offers flexible working hours, professional development resources, and access to a supportive team. You will participate in a growing network of specialists and help Deaf users access essential public services.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and BSL is required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Registration with NRCPD or RBSLI.
• Relevant BSL interpreting qualification (Level 6 or equivalent preferred).

Responsibilities

• Interpret between English and British Sign Language (BSL).
• Support communication within police, court, legal and justice settings.
• Ensure accurate, confidential, and impartial interpretation.
• Maintain professional standards and ethical practice at all times.
• Manage your availability and assignments through our interpreting platform.
• Help service users access essential legal and public services.
