Job summary

SSEN Transmission, based in Scotland, seeks a Development Project Manager to lead the development phase of major capital projects, including onshore/offshore works and consents. You will coordinate multi‑discipline teams and manage stakeholder engagement across the lifecycle.

Based from a Scottish location, you will split time between office and site visits, ensuring health, safety and regulatory compliance while delivering project objectives.

Qualifications

• A degree qualification and membership of a recognised professional body.
• Experience supporting the early development phase of large capital projects, ideally within electricity generation or transmission.
• Strong experience collaborating across complex project interfaces with stakeholders and supply chain partners.
• Solid understanding of project management systems, risk management and governance for large capital projects, with CDM 2015 awareness.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with a proactive health and safety approach.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate project concept and feasibility, develop options and initial designs, and lead refinement to a consentable, constructable option.
• Lead site and route selection, coordinate surveys, inform initial designs, and manage planning and regulatory interfaces.
• Manage internal/external interfaces across workstreams to ensure a successful handover to delivery teams.
• Support multi-discipline project teams using robust project management tools to deliver deliverables through construction phase.
• Provide Safety and Environmental leadership to minimise impact and safeguard wellbeing.
