Job summary

Zoological Society of London (ZSL) is seeking a Commercial and Partnerships Communications Officer to raise the profile of its commercial, fundraising and partnership activity and to tell powerful conservation stories from London Zoo and Whipsnade.

You'll work with PR, commercial and fundraising colleagues to turn ideas into press releases, pitches and campaigns, and spend four days per week on-site to connect with people and opportunities behind ZSL's mission.

Qualifications

• Experience in communications, PR, media relations, journalism, marketing communications or external affairs activity.
• Confidence in drafting clear and engaging written content for external audiences.
• Ability to create compelling content and identify newsworthy opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of communications: support plans for commercial, fundraising and partnership activity.
• Develop engaging stories highlighting partnership impact and fundraising successes.
• Proactive media and content activity: drafting press releases, pitches and web content; support earned media opportunities.
• Coordinate media and stakeholder relations: media visits, interviews, shoots, launches and briefs.
• Monitor media coverage and evaluate performance to improve future activity.
