Job summary

Caritas Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Children's Social Worker (SSW) in Middlesbrough to safeguard vulnerable children and support families.

You will work within a multidisciplinary Safeguarding Team, performing assessments, developing care plans, attending conferences and court hearings, and contributing to positive outcomes through strong communication and professional practice.

Qualifications

• BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent.
• Current Social Work England registration.
• Proven experience in children’s social work, safeguarding.
• Strong assessment and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's needs and risks.
• Develop and implement child protection plans in partnership with families and other agencies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to‑date case records in accordance with local authority policies.
• Provide support and guidance to families to promote positive outcomes for children.
• Attend and participate in relevant meetings, including child protection conferences and court hearings.
