Job summary

Berkeley Scott Limited is seeking experienced Catering Assistants to cover Chester for temporary assignments in education, healthcare and business settings. Roles include term-time and non-term-time shifts with school hours, and long shifts for flexible schedules. Weekly pay and ongoing temporary work are offered.

Successful candidates will choose shifts that fit their availability and gain experience in varied catering environments, with a supportive agency team to assist throughout assignments.

Qualifications

• Prior catering experience; education sector experience is a plus.
• Food Safety and Food Allergen qualifications or willingness to obtain them.
• Enhanced DBS with child barred or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced catering environments.
• Positive, reliable and professional approach; work well independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and service of hot and cold foods.
• Support Chef/Catering Manager and kitchen teams.
• Handle food service for children; liaise with teachers and carers.
• Operate tills and handle payments where required.
• Assist with clearing down and closing units at end of shifts.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
