Job summary

Practice Plus Group Hospital Ilford is recruiting a Bank Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team on a bank (0-hour) contract. You will support medicines management, dispensing and stock control while ensuring timely access to medicines for patients.

Working with the Site Lead Pharmacist and multidisciplinary teams, you will counsel patients, maintain governance standards and participate in audits. Applicants must have NVQ Level 3/BTEC in Pharmacy Technician and current GPhC registration;

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3, BTEC or equivalent Pharmacy Technician qualification.
• Current GPhC registration.
• Post-qualification experience in a pharmacy environment.
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
• Good IT skills and computer literacy.
• Strong communication and patient counselling skills.
• Experience with pharmacy software systems (desirable).
• Experience contributing to service audits and quality improvement initiatives (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of a safe, high-quality pharmacy service.
• Dispense medicines accurately and in accordance with procedures.
• Provide medicines management support to inpatient and outpatient areas.
• Counsel patients on medications and information.
• Maintain controlled drug records and ensure compliance with legislation.
• Manage stock levels, order medicines and support stock audits.
• Assist with medicines management audits, projects and data collection.
• Support pharmacy governance, quality improvement and regulatory compliance activities.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, consultants and healthcare teams.
• Assist in the induction and support of new pharmacy colleagues.
