Job summary

Practice Plus Group Hospital Ilford is seeking a Bank Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join a high-performing theatre team. The role offers bank (0-hour) contracts with flexible shifts across Anaesthetics, Scrub and Recovery, delivering perioperative care in a variety of specialties.

You will hold HCPC or NMC registration with a degree in Operating Department Practice, plus UK post-qualification experience.

Qualifications

• UK post-qualification experience across Anaesthetics, Scrub and PACU/Recovery.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Delivering high standards of perioperative patient care.
• Working across Anaesthetics, Scrub and Recovery as required.
• Preparing theatre and anaesthetic rooms for daily operating lists.
• Supporting safe patient transfer and handover processes.
• Assisting with management of instruments, consumables and equipment.
• Monitoring stock levels and supporting stock control.
• Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation.
• Supporting infection prevention and clinical governance initiatives.
• Participating in teaching, supervision and departmental development activities.
• Collaborating with surgeons, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary colleagues.
