Job summary

The Old Station Nursery in Wellesbourne is seeking a Bank Nursery Practitioner to provide flexible, casual support across our nursery team. This role suits those balancing studies, family life, or other commitments, with shifts offered as needed.

You’ll work on a zero hours contract, with shifts likely between 8am and 6pm, and you’ll join a welcoming team on the Wellesbourne campus. DBS checks and right-to-work verifications apply.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a childcare or Early Years setting.
• Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support children and colleagues across the nursery as needed.
• Cover holidays and busy periods to ensure continuity.
• Help provide consistency for children when teams need extra support.
• Support play, creativity, curiosity, and safe environment for children.

Pay: £13.17 - £13.44 per Hour based on experience. Plus an additional 13.54% accrued holiday pay entitlement.

Hours:Flexible zero hours contract. Whether you’re looking for occasional shifts or more regular work, opportunities are available Monday–Friday between 8am–6pm depending on nursery needs.

Where You'll Be Working

Our beautiful nursery in Wellesbourne offers a premium nursery experience with 3 additional enhancements. Forest School, Organic lifestyle and Cookery. Our Wellesbourne nursery children love their days with us and set out on the next stage of their education equipped with the life-long skills gained from being in a Forest School and organic growing environment, as well as confidence around cookery and handling ingredients. Each room has its own dedicated outdoor space that the children have access to all day, every day. Located on the Wellesbourne campus of Warwick University HRI, on Charlecote Road, just off the A429. There is ample parking on-site, with a car park on campus.

What You'll Be Doing

As part of our Bank Nursery Team, you’ll support children and colleagues across the nursery as and when needed -whether that’s covering holidays, supporting during busy periods, or helping provide consistency for children when teams need extra support.

No two days are ever quite the same -and that’s part of the joy.

One moment you could be building dens outdoors and the next you’ll be helping bring story time to life.

You’ll support children through play, creativity, curiosity, and connection while helping create a safe, nurturing environment where they feel happy, valued, and confident to explore.

What We’re Looking For

Experience working in a childcare or Early Years setting, aLevel 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification is desirable but not essential.

We’re looking for people with big hearts, curious minds, and a genuine passion for supporting children’s growth and development.
