Job summary

Bath and North East Somerset Council is seeking creative, enthusiastic Catering Assistants to work across our two sites in Bath and Midsomer Norton on a bank/casual basis. Shifts are flexible, with options for day, evening or weekend work, but are not guaranteed.

You will assist with food transport, serving, cleaning and setting up dining spaces, and support the catering team with a proactive approach and good communication with care staff and service users.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering assistance and serving food.
• Ability to communicate effectively with care staff, service users and visitors.
• Willingness to work across bank/casual shifts.
• Enhanced DBS check is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with transportation and delivery of food from the kitchen.
• Wash and dry catering equipment and crockery.
• Serve food and drink to service users and others as directed.
• Clean dining and kitchen spaces.
• Set up the dining space.
• Ensure enough supplies of clean crockery, cutlery and utensils for each meal service.
• Communicate effectively with care staff and visitors.
