Fleet & Transport Planner
Location: Hendon Dock, Sunderland
Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:30-17:00 (with 1 in 4 weekends on call)

About the Role

Our client is looking for an organised and proactive Fleet & Transport Planner to join our team. This is a vital role ensuring smooth, efficient, and compliant operations across a nationwide fleet. You'll act as the central link between drivers, hauliers, front office, and sales teams—keeping everything moving while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate fleet maintenance, servicing, inspections, and repairs.
  • Ensure full compliance with MOT, ADR, VOSA, and UK transport safety standards.
  • Manage costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Schedule transport across the UK for bulk liquids and packaged materials.
  • Work closely with sales and customer service to meet client requirements.
  • Support drivers and subcontractors, ensuring strict health & safety compliance.
  • Monitor customer tanks and arrange timely deliveries or collections.
What We're Looking For
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in fleet management, transport planning, or logistics.
  • Good knowledge of vehicle maintenance schedules and UK transport legislation.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work under pressure.
  • IT skills, ideally including SAP and Excel.
  • CPC qualification (or working towards one) would be highly advantageous.
  • Flexibility to support occasional weekend work
