Job summary

A logistics and transport company in the United Kingdom is seeking a Fleet & Transport Coordinator to manage fleet maintenance, scheduling, and compliance with safety standards. Qualifications

Job description
Overview

Fleet & Transport Coordinator – Location: Morecambe. Hours: Mon-Fri, 08:30-17:00 (with 1 in 4 weekends on call). Salary circa £35k.

Responsibilities
  • Planning fleet maintenance, servicing, inspections, and repairs.
  • Ensuring full compliance with MOT, ADR, VOSA, and safety standards.
  • Managing costs and finding ways to improve efficiency.
  • Planning and scheduling transport across the UK for bulk liquids and packaged materials.
  • Liaising daily with sales and customer service to meet client needs.
  • Supporting drivers and subcontractors, ensuring health & safety procedures are followed.
  • Monitoring customer tanks and arranging timely deliveries or collections.
Ideal Candidate
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Experience in fleet management, transport planning, or logistics.
  • Good knowledge of vehicle maintenance schedules and UK transport legislation.
  • IT skills, ideally including SAP and Excel.
  • Excellent communicator, confident working under pressure.
  • CPC qualification (or working towards one) would be a plus.
  • Flexibility to support occasional weekend work.
