A public safety organization in Inverness is seeking a Fleet Support Technician to maintain and service fire service vehicles and equipment. This full-time role includes inspections and on-site testing, requiring a qualified LGV mechanic with relevant certifications. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for the post of Fleet Support Technician, based in Inverness on a permanent basis. This is a full-time opportunity, working 35 hours per week with a two week rolling rota you can expect a long weekend every second week.
The post holder will be responsible for the detailed inspection servicing and maintenance regimes on fire service vehicles and operational equipment in accordance with DVSA and CFOA guidelines and procedures. This post is predominately workshop based but will have a significant requirement for the inspection and testing of new and existing vehicles and operational equipment on site at the services stations and premises throughout the North East area.

Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements. A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
