Fleet Operations Specialist

Join our team in the UK as a Fleet Operations Specialist and play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant operation of our vehicle fleet as we advance our sustainable mobility agenda. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented professional to manage the daily operational aspects of our fleet across the UK and Ireland, delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective transportation for our employees while supporting our transition towards battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and other sustainable solutions.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Sustainable Fleet Operations – Support the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) and other sustainable transport solutions. Manage vehicle selection, EV infrastructure development, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Driver Management & Support – Oversee licence checks, traffic fines, mileage reimbursements, and provide guidance to drivers and internal teams.
  • Policy Compliance & Internal Collaboration – Ensure compliance with fleet policies and regulations. Partner with HR, Payroll, and Finance, and maintain up-to-date resources in internal systems.
  • Cost Control & Reporting – Monitor fleet costs, support budget adherence, and identify opportunities for operational efficiency.
  • Vendor Management – Manage daily interactions with fleet vendors, ensuring service quality and resolving issues. Coordinate regular operational meetings and handle invoicing and data needs.
  • Stakeholder Communication – Provide clear updates and support to drivers and internal stakeholders on fleet operations and policies.
  • Reporting & Analytics – Define KPIs, build dashboards, and present insights to HR teams to drive continuous improvement.

What will make you successful?

  • Proven experience (minimum 5-7 years) in fleet operations management, ideally within a large organization across cars and commercial vehicles.
  • Demonstrated experience with vehicle maintenance scheduling, vendor management, and operational cost control.
  • Proficiency in fleet management software and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interacting with drivers, internal teams, and external vendors.
  • An ability to prioritise conflicting priorities and maintain driver safety is paramount.
  • Proactive problem-solver with a hands-on approach to operational challenges.
  • Commitment to promoting safe driving practices and sustainable mobility solutions.
