Job summary

A taxi fleet management company in Reading is seeking an experienced Car Mechanic to maintain their in-house fleet. The role involves performing inspections, repairs, and routine maintenance to ensure vehicle safety and reliability. Ideal candidates will have experience with fleet vehicles, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to work independently. Full-time position with opportunities for training and development.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a car mechanic or technician, preferably with fleet vehicles.
• Strong ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults.
• Clear understanding of routine vehicle maintenance.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
• Ability to handle use of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Carry out visual inspections and use diagnostic test equipment.
• Remove, repair and replace defective parts.
• Perform routine maintenance including servicing of vehicle parts.
• Repair and service air conditioning and heating systems.
