Job description

Fleet Manager required in Hertfordshire.

Basic Salary: £40,000

Working Hours: Monday to Friday ONLY 8am - 5pm

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Fleet Manager to oversee the strategic and operational management of their vehicle fleet. This role is responsible for ensuring full regulatory compliance, optimising fleet performance, and delivering cost-effective solutions across maintenance, licensing, insurance, and distribution.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an up-to-date asset database for all vehicles
• Ensure timely servicing according to manufacturer guidelines
• Drive cost control measures and efficiency savings
• Liaise with repair networks to ensure best practices are followed
• Minimise vehicle downtime to maximise fleet utilisation
• Monitor operational trends for proactive fleet acquisition decisions
• Manage fleet renewals, decommissions, and distribution strategies
• Administer vehicle tracking and geofencing systems
• Ensure fleet compliance with all licensing and safety standards
• Produce detailed reports for senior management
• Support ad hoc fleet management duties as required

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Fleet Maintenance Controller or similar role managing large vehicle fleets
• Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Experience updating vehicle maintenance records and coordinating repairs
• Competent in fleet management databases and tracking systems
• Analytical and strategic thinker with proactive planning abilities
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with repair networks and authorities
