Sovereign Transport Services, part of the VictorianPlumbing.co.uk Group, is recruiting a Transport Manager to lead fleet compliance and operator-licence undertakings. This role focuses on legal roadworthiness and national distribution excellence.

You will oversee driver training, including a new apprenticeship program, and ensure tachograph and hours rules are strictly followed. A proactive, detail‑oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Transport Manager in logistics, transport, or retail distribution.
• Comprehensive knowledge of UK transport legislation and DVSA regulations.
• Strong leadership with staff management and apprenticeship experience.
• Excellent administrative and audit-readiness skills.

Responsibilities

• Take ultimate accountability for fleet compliance, operator licence undertakings and vehicle roadworthiness.
• Oversee driver trainers and launch develop apprenticeship schemes.
• Monitor drivers' hours, tachograph compliance and rest periods.
• Oversee vehicle loading operations to ensure safety and legal weight limits.
• Maintain transport records and liaise with DVSA and Traffic Commissioner.
