Overview

Fixed Income/ Credit Trader (2-3 years), Global Investment Manager
London

About the role

A leading Global Fixed Income team is seeking a Fixed Income professional to strengthen their London desk as they expand global product offerings. The role will focus on trading European Corporate and Government bond markets, select Emerging Markets, and associated FX for a Global Bond ETF product. The position requires deep knowledge of fixed income/ credit markets, and trading protocols. As part of the Global Trading Team, the trader will collaborate with portfolio managers and analysts to provide market insights, liquidity assessments, and trading strategy input.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary trader for a global ETF fund, executing trades across developed and emerging markets with strong knowledge of local market structures, trading hours, and liquidity conditions.
  • Trade across IG, HY, EMD, structured products, municipals, and other fixed income strategies
  • Support the execution and development of trading strategies for Global ETFs, including primary and secondary market activities, with associated FX hedging.
  • Maintain and expand low-touch trading of liquid fixed income instruments and develop high-touch trading capabilities across markets traded on the London desk.
  • Monitor market movements and trading dynamics to inform buy/sell decisions on fixed income securities.
  • Maintain portfolio records and prepare reports detailing trades and positions.
  • Control trading costs and support fund management objectives.
  • Ensure all trading processes and documentation comply with UCITS, MiFID II, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Safeguard client confidence by maintaining confidentiality and monitoring potential breaches.
  • Troubleshoot daily trade, settlement, and operational issues, ensuring smooth post-trade processing across global time zones, including Asia and EMEA.
Qualifications & Experience Required
  • 2–3 years of fixed income experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • MBA, CFA, or IMC preferred.
  • Strong understanding of global market structures, trading hours, and liquidity dynamics.
  • Proficiency with Bloomberg Terminal, TradeWeb, MarketAxess, and other trading platforms.
