Job summary

KONE is hiring a Fitter/Tester to join the South Wales team. The role involves installing and testing lifts, reporting conditions to the Construction Manager, and providing snagging lists to the Fitter while keeping supervisor informed.

It requires NVQ3/NVQ4 in Testing or close to finishing, plus a driving license and strong customer and safety focus. Applicants should be proficient in English, with solid health and safety knowledge.

Qualifications

• Must have NVQ3 or NVQ4 in Testing or be close to finishing
• Experience working with lifts and related equipment
• Driving license required and active
• Strong customer service skills are essential
• Good written and spoken English skills
• Excellent health and safety knowledge is essential

Responsibilities

• Carry out installations with the aim of testing lifts
• Report lift condition to the Construction Manager
• Provide snagging items list to the Fitter and inform the supervisor
• Participate in meetings and groups on quality and technical issues
• Ensure lift well security and safety during commissioning and testing

Job description

Due to some exciting projects, KONE has a position available as Fitter Tester. This role will be supporting our South Wales team.

We are looking for a Fitter/Tester who has a strong passion for the lifts industry, is NVQ4 Qualified or close to finishing.

Responsibilities

As a Fitter/Tester, you will be carrying out installations with the aim to be testing lifts also, you will report the condition of the lift to the Construction Manager who is responsible for all the site activities. When testing you will give snagging items list to the Fitter and inform the supervisor. You will be taking part in meetings and work groups related to quality and technical issues and will be responsible for the lift well security (safe for other trades and public etc) and safety of all persons involved in the installation activities during commissioning and testing of the lift (or escalator).

Qualifications

• NVQ3 & NVQ4 in Testing or close to finishing
• Experience of working with Lifts
• Driving license
• Strong customer skills
• Good written and spoken English
• Excellent health and safety knowledge is essential for this role
