Pay: £34,000.00-£36,000.00 per year

Job Description:

Proactive personnel are currently recruiting for an experienced Fitter.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for aFitterto join a rapidly evolving and busy company based inPoynton. We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fitter to join our clients team, specialising in the repair, maintenance, and refurbishment of concrete mixers and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical abilities, problem-solving skills, and experience working with heavy-duty machinery in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires excellent communication skills: including verbal and written English and the ability to work to timescales in a challenging environment.

Salary: £36,000 per annum

24 Days Annual Leave

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose mechanical faults on concrete mixers and associated equipment
  • Carry out repairs, servicing, and preventative maintenance
  • Strip down, rebuild, and test mixer components
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within safety guidelines
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used
  • Work both independently and as part of a team to meet operational deadlines
  • Assist with onsite breakdowns when required
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience as a mechanical fitter or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Experience working with heavy plant or construction equipment (preferred)
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Commitment to safe working practices
Desirable:
  • Welding and fabrication experience
  • Relevant engineering qualification or apprenticeship
