Job summary

McPhee Mixers is seeking an experienced Fitter to join our team in Motherwell. You will assemble and fit truck components, read CAD drawings, and ensure high-quality work within tight schedules at customer sites.

The role requires MIG welding experience, hydraulic know-how, a full UK driving licence, and a proactive, safety-focused approach in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with MIG welding (steel/ferrous metals).
• Experience working with hydraulic systems.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Assembling and fitting truck components, hydraulics, and ancillary equipment.
• Reading and interpreting CAD drawings and build specifications.
• Completing jobs within agreed timescales and to a high standard.
• Accurately completing job cards in line with Type Approval requirements.
• Carrying out installations and repairs on customer sites when required.
• Ensuring all vehicles pass quality control checks before sign-off.
• Maintaining compliance with COP and Type Approval standards.
• Following all Health & Safety procedures.

McPhee Mixers is looking for a skilled and motivated Fitter to join our growing team in Motherwell. As a Fitter, you'll play a key role in assembling and installing components on commercial vehicles to meet customer specifications.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assembling and fitting truck components, hydraulics, and ancillary equipment
• Reading and interpreting CAD drawings and build specifications
• Completing jobs within agreed timescales and to a high standard
• Accurately completing job cards in line with Type Approval requirements
• Carrying out installations and repairs on customer sites when required

What we are looking for

• Experience with MIG welding (steel/ferrous metals)
• Experience working with hydraulic systems
• Ability to work independently and use your own initiative
• Physically fit (lifting, bending, and manual handling required)
• Full, clean UK driving licence

Preferred:

• Experience diagnosing and solving hydraulic issues
