Legacy Leisure is seeking a Fitness Instructor at Cowbridge Leisure Centre for a part-time position. You will conduct inductions, fitness assessments and develop personal programmes for our customers, ensuring safety and enjoyment of all users.
You must be REPS Level 2 or equivalent, flexible with hours including some mornings, evenings and weekends, and able to motivate customers. Legacy Leisure offers a free gym membership and other benefits.
Fitness Instructor
Part Time Contract
We are currently looking for a Fitness Instructor who can undertake Inductions, Fitness Assessments and develop Personal Programmes for our customers.
Primary objectives for the Fitness Instructor will be:
To ensure the safety and enjoyment of everybody using the health and fitness facilities.
To promote excellence of customer service and motivate people to enjoy exercise through good communications and selling skills.
To take responsibility for all aspects of the daily operation of the health and fitness facilities.
To drive the ‘Leisure Centre’ brand at all times including during Inductions, Fitness Assessments and Personal Programmes and specifically to adhere to all operational and sales procedures.
To undertake maintenance work as required, along with relevant safety checks.
To make sure all equipment and facilities are safe and secure when not in use.
To undertake any reasonable request to assist with the daily operations of the Centre.
To be aware of all Health and Safety issues within the Centre, and specifically the fitness and health facility, and to constantly implement and assess procedures, drawing attention to unsafe practices.
To guide, care for and assist all fitness users especially in areas of motivation, well-being, nutrition, and fitness testing.
To deliver small group training sessions within your working hours.
Working Hours
You will be contracted to 24 hours per week.
You will work on a 2 week rolling rota, which include:Week 1 - Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 13:00PM - 21:30PM andWeek 2 - Wednesday 14:00PM - 21:00PM, Saturday and Sunday 07.45AM - 17:00PM
Additional hours may be available at our other leisure centres in the Vale of Glamorgan including; Penarth, Barry and Llantwit Major.
You must be flexible, reliable, and enjoy working as part of a team.
You will possess the REPS level 2 or equivalent qualification and be willing to work variable hours, including some early mornings, evenings and weekends.
Must be able to gain acceptance and respect from clients and the teams involved.
Must be able to build strong relationships with customers, clients and employees.
Must be able to communicate at different levels of the organisation, both listen and direct.
