A healthcare organization is seeking a committed Fit Tester to provide training and support on PPE and fit testing. Responsibilities include scheduling training sessions, managing data, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Candidates should have relevant qualifications in health and safety, experience in fit testing, and administrative skills. This role is based in Dartford, UK, with a salary range of £28,860 to £31,671 per annum.
The Infection Prevention and Control Service (IPCS) hosts and provides the Trust Fit Testing for FFP3 masks for all staff. We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and committed Fit Tester who will provide specialist advice on Fit Testing via the single point of access email for Fit Testing enquiries and provide bookings, proactive and reactive support for the infection, prevention and response during outbreaks. The aim of the service is to provide ongoing training and support to ensure there are high levels of training compliance at any time in the Trust for Fit Testing. To provide comprehensive and high quality administrative support to DGT Fit Testing Programme. The post holder will also be responsible for the delivery of PPE training and auditing in clinical areas.

To support the development, roll out, maintenance and monitoring of a sound and effective Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Programme throughout the whole of DGT using the Plan-Do-Check-Act methodology in both clinical and non-clinical areas.
The post holder will work under the direction and supervision of the Infection Prevention and Control Governance and Patient Safety Lead, to provide comprehensive assistance and support to the Infection Prevention and Control Service, which will be both administrative and data analysis in nature as well as the practical task of setting up, delivering, post-delivery actions on RPE and PPE training. The Fit Tester will be expected to gain competence in all aspects of the role and apply this in their work, and to attend further infection prevention and control, database and systems, Fit Testing training to develop knowledge and skill base as directed to fully support and continue the service delivery to a high standard. There will be travel to other sites required where the service is needed for DGT staff based in the community and off Darent Valley Hospital site. The post holder will be expected to travel, rotate base and manage the training equipment required.

Main duties of this role will include (but not limited to):
Manage a calendar for scheduling face fit testing lessons and PPE training and audits
Manage appointments and attendance for face fit testing and training using Engage (organisational learning platform)
Use the Mandatory and Statutory Training (MAST) tracker and Engage to gather and analyse data
Input face fit test results in to a departmental spreadsheet and keep it up to date and accurate
Maintain a system for how many staff have a pass on each type of FFP3 mask
Maintain a working relationship with procurement to ensure that there is an adequate supply of FFP3 masks for fit testing
Develop and maintain a system for reusable RPE masks/hoods and filters
Promote Face Fit testing at staff induction events and promotional campaigns
